5 Great Local Dog Runs

Jul 30, 2020

At Newport, we’re so fortunate to have the Waterfront and plenty of green space right outside our door. For those with pups, this makes incorporating ample outdoor time into their daily routine super easy and convenient. With so many options nearby, we’ve rounded up our 5 favorite local dog runs--including Newport’s own--to make sure you’re finding the best spots for you and your doggo!

Newport Dog Run

Available for residents only, our very own Newport Dog Run is a clean and beautiful spot to let your dog safely enjoy off-leash freedom. Pups can enjoy the faux grass, fenced in security, and state-of-the art equipment, all while playing with their furry neighbors.

Revetment House Dog Run

Also part of the Newport community, the dog run at Revetment House provides another great option for doggy playtime. The dog run is located within charming Hamilton Park and offers plenty of well-maintained space for you and your dog to enjoy.

Van Vorst Park Dog Run

With separate areas for large and small dogs, the Van Vorst Park Dog Run is another great local spot to check out. Both sections feature a gravel surface, water fountains for dogs, and plenty of seating and shade for dog owners.

Lincoln Park Dog Run

The Lincoln Park Dog Run is a large, well-cared for gravel dog park here in Jersey City. This spot does not have separate areas for large and small dogs, but has ample space for either maintaining distance or playing with others. There are small pools available for warmer months and even a fire hydrant installed specifically for your pup’s enjoyment.

Timulty Park Dog Run

One of the newer parks in Jersey City, the Timulty Park Dog Run requires dogs to have a current license and metal registration tags before being unleashed in the fenced enclosure. The park is open from 8am to 10pm and features soft turf for the pup’s paw protection. Hoboken Girl featured this spot as one of the best dog parks in the area!

We hope you and your furry loved ones are able to get out and enjoy some of these neighborhood dog runs. Snap a pic of your pup at any of these spots and share with us on social media by tagging us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter!
