Nutcracker Ballet in Jersey City

The world-famous classic Nutcracker Ballet tells the tale of little Marie’s beloved nutcracker toy coming alive the night of Christmas to defeat the evil Mouse King while going on an adventure leading through fantasy, adversity and, celebration and teaching them lessons about friendship and community along the way.

Jersey City’s Nimbus Dance Works will be showcasing the seventh annual performance of this traditional holiday ballet this winter season. Numbus Dance Work’s unique adaption of Tchaikovsky's holiday classic is choreographed and directed by Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott. The ballet is performed by a stand-out cast of professional dancers from Nimbus Dance Works and joined by youth and adults from the community, as they portray familiar characters such as the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Rat King, the Arabian Princess, and Drosselmeier.

Colorful sets, enchanting costumes, and a brightly adorned Christmas tree spread the traditional tale of the Christmas spirit to youth and adults alike.

Performances will take place on the following dates and range from $15- $35.

  • Friday, December 16th, 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, December 17th, 1:00 PM & 5:00 PM
  • Sunday, December 18th, 1:00 PM & 5:00 PM

The performances will be taking place at the Frank R. Conwell Middle School Auditorium (107 Bright Street, Jersey City) and is located in Histroy Downtown Jersey City,  just over two miles away from Newport.
